Dr. Christine Houghton (AUS) –  PhD., BSc., R.Nutr.

After practicing Nutritional Medicine for 3 decades and holding a Ph.D. in Nutrigenomics, Christine has built on her extensive clinical experience to research, develop and teach other clinicians clinically-relevant strategies associated with nutrigenomically-active phytochemicals.  Sulforaphane, derived from broccoli sprouts was the focus of her Ph.D. thesis and her company Cell-Logic Pty Ltd now produces the world’s highest sulforaphane-yielding whole broccoli sprout ingredient.  Delving into the many functions of sulforaphane was her stimulus to revisit and revise some of the clinical strategies she had used when in day-to-day practice.  It was then that she realised that some of the accepted and long-standing principles for correcting biochemical abnormalities in human cells were flawed.

Her recent research has culminated in the development of the G.E.M.M. Protocol (Gut Ecology & Metabolic Modulation), an approach that mimics the processes used by Nature to re-establish homeostasis within the gut and with consequent enhancement of cardiometabolic health and reduction of a range of processes that contribute to chronic disease.
